but I think you are missing the point. This is an demonstration that electric cars can be high performance - not an excercise in power to weight ratios... Second you are wrong about it being just as fast as an Ariel Atom - this demonstrates a couple of specific advantages that electric motors bring to a performance car - immediate, flat and high torque curve per HP and no transmission - an Arial would need a much larger HP motor than the 300 HP quoted below to be remotely competitive... Finally, I think you give short shrift to the engineering necessary to put an electric motor in a car - I somehow doubt you would poo-poo Warren Moslers MT-900 just because he drops an GM LT-1 powerplant in his chassis... As for your point about power to weight ratios - maybe you should do a little research before spouting off - the Carrerra weighs exactly twice the X-1 - but has 602 HP v. 247 HP for the Wrightspeed... so which has a higher power to weight ratio?
